Luján Riquelme | Costume designer
THEATRE AND SHOWS
During my time in the performing arts, I had the opportunity to be part of the creative process, characterization, and production of various projects. Design, tailoring, beadwork, and hand painting are some of the skills I possess; as well as the maintenance and alteration of costumes using sewing machines and hand-sewing, and the creation of headpieces and hairpieces, including wigs, hair extensions, beards, and mustaches. I also handle hair treatments such as cutting, carding, chopping, and weaving. I have experience in the execution and production of costumes for plays, musicals, and dance performances. My expertise includes the preparation, direction, and staging of shows from beginning to end, as well as managing costume inventories, budgets, material selection and purchase, and overseeing the entire process until the final performance.
Regarding my experience in circus shows, I worked as a local wardrobe staff member on four occasions (Amaluna, Septimo Día, Crystal, and Alegría), where I served as a dresser and seamstress . My responsibilities included costume repairs, maintenance, show preparation, ironing and laundry, tracking show schedules, and various other projects during my time with each show. I also provided support to the wig and shoe teams, performing repairs, show preparation, leather painting, and various alterations in both areas.
